(Mustang, Oklahoma – June 26, 2019) – School is out for Summer, but Mustang Public Schools (MPS) has something to celebrate, increased ACT scores. Since 2017, the State of Oklahoma has funded and required all 11th grade students to take either the ACT or SAT, but individual Districts were able to choose which assessment that they would give. MPS chose the ACT. As indicated in the chart below, the 721 Juniors who took the Spring 2019 ACT increased scores over 2018 in all areas, leading to a 2.16% increase in the composite score. “This is a significant increase,” former Deputy Superintendent Tracy Skinner stated. “These scores represent all 11th grade students regardless of demographics, disability, or of how long they attended Mustang Schools.” Superintendent Charles Bradley echoed Skinner’s excitement by saying how proud he was of these students: “Our incoming Seniors did a great job of taking this test seriously and doing their very best, and the results show. I am very proud of them, and can’t wait to see the great things that they will do in the coming year(s).”
