Mustang High School Assistant Principal Promoted To Lead Mustang Middle School

(Mustang, Oklahoma – July 8, 2019) – The Mustang Public School Board met on Monday, July 8, 2019 where they approved the hiring of Ramae Collins to lead Mustang Middle School (MMS) for the 2019-2020 school year.

Ramae Collins has served as the Curriculum & Instruction Principal at Mustang High School (MHS) since the 2012-2013 school year, and is entering her 29th year as a public school educator in Oklahoma.  Before joining the administrative team at Mustang High School she worked as an Elementary Teacher, a Secondary Math Teacher, an Assistant Principal and, eventually, the PreK-12 District Mathematics Coordinator for Mid-Del Public Schools.  Mrs. Collins received her undergraduate degree in Education from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.  As the Curriculum & Instruction Principal, Mrs. Collins was involved in all aspects of teaching and learning at MHS including student assessment, grading, academic requirements, intervention/remediation and advanced placement. She also worked closely with new teachers at MHS, as well as with students and parents to resolve any instructional or classroom issues that arose.

“Mrs. Collins’ experience is unrivaled, and we feel it has prepared her to be a great leader for Mustang Middle School,” Executive Director of Human Resources, Chris Tobler said.  Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education, Ryan Mckinney added, “Having worked the last 6 years at MHS she has a very strong understanding of what is expected out of high school students and knows what skills the middle school students will need to be successful at the high school level.”  Superintendent Charles Bradley concluded by adding that “We are excited to see the great things that she will do in her new role.”

When reached for comment about her new position, Ramae stated: “I have enjoyed working together with staff, parents, students and the community to continue the tradition of educational excellence at Mustang High School for the past six years.  I will miss working with my MHS family on a daily basis but know that we are still working toward the same goal of helping Mustang students achieve at their highest potential. I am excited to get started in my new role at MMS and thankful to the district for this opportunity to continue the great things happening here.”
